We arrived in Cartagena and was immediately greeted by the humidity! Steamy!
We booked a place on Air bnb. It was a old convent turned bed and breakfast. Originally, the room was suppose to be a single double bed. We got upgraded to a bigger room with two beds, bathroom and balcony with a view of the ocean!
We wandered out for a late dinner and stumbled upon El Boliche Cevicheria.
We had a few BBC beers and delicious fresh ceviche. I didn’t get pictures of the food!
Saturday. We started the day with a free walking tour. Boy was it hot!
Different door knockers symbolizes different households. Lizard meant royalty, fishes meant they were in the fishing business etc.
For lunch we stopped at Cevicheria. It was featured on No Reservations with Anthony Bourdain. Ironically, we passed by the restaurant during our walking tour and saw the owner!
Before lunch, we planned on grabbing a fresh coconut water to drink but when we got to the cart, we couldn’t find the person manning it! After lunch, we passed by the lady and her daughter. We grabbed a refreshing coconut before heading to another tour in the afternoon. It was scorching hot.
We hopped on a city tour of Cartagena in the afternoon.
We went to a Cuban bar for happy hour. And we made some new friends. Bar hopped and salsa danced the rest of the night.
Sunday. My state in the morning. Headache. Coconut Water. Hydrate.
Had a fantastic weekend in Cartagena. Highly recommend visiting!
